    Internet Explorer 7

Internet Explorer 7 is available now for Windows XP and the FreeTextBox editor appears mostly blank in this browser. I use a web application that appears to be using the FreeTextBox HTML editor and I noticed that it was not displaying properly today.

I checked in Firefox and it is definitely the FreeTextBox HTML editor using 4 toolbars. However the demo on the www.freetextbox.com web site works in Internet Explorer 7 so it is probably a version issue or a problem that only appears when you enable all the toolbars. The web application is DotNetNuke and the effected module is the Issue Tracking.

I am having the same issue but not in DNN. Does anyone have a suggestion why this is the case?

I have the same issue when using FTB 3-1-6 from a remote computer, ("Windows 2003") it works just fine from localhost.

If some one knows how to limit the upload size in image gallery, please let me know.

    hi,

The issue does not happen if you have the last version of FreeTextBox.

In the version 3.1.6 does not happen

    Re: Internet Explorer 7

I personally have had no problems with IE7 and version 3.1.6 of FTB. However, I have received complaints from several clients that FTB is rendering with only the HTML view available. Is there maybe some javascript or other browser setting that would be causing this?

    Re: Internet Explorer 7

Having the same problem with IE7 and FTB 3.1.6 on several different computers, and on different servers. It seems to still be loading something when it's not working. Sometimes after refreshing a couple of times, it does work, but it's more not working then working...

    Re: Internet Explorer 7

After some more quick tests I found the following to 'fix' the problem:

In IE7 under 'Internet Options' goto Browser History and click on the 'Settings' button. As a webdeveloper I usually have the settings there on 'Every visit to page' to prevent caching a bit, but change that back to the default 'Automatically', and FTB works again.

But we still need a better solution to this...

    Re: Internet Explorer 7

    Hi,

The problem is fixed for me, explanation.

My website use the aspnet_client folder in C:\INETPUB\wwwroot\aspnet_client and not the aspnet_client folder in my website root.

I have just changed the freetextbox folder in C:\INETPUB\wwwroot\aspnet_client and now it work with IE7.

What folder did you move over? the ftb3HtmlEditorProvider folder?

    I have this path

    Re: Internet Explorer 7

Finally!!!!!!! After getting a response from FreeTextBox that they did not support DNN problems and after looking everywhere for an answer... I found the solution. Get rid of FreeTextBox (FTB) and install FCKEditor. I spent hours trying to find a fix and downloaded FCKEditor from DNN site, installed it in 5 minutes and everything worked, with a ton of new features. I did this on an early version of DNN 3.1.1

I hope this helps others save time.

    Re: Internet Explorer 7

maybe u want to see this site http://kufli.blogspot.com/ and call the FTB programmatically.. IE7 warned me security issues but i then added FTB onto GAC and it worked fine since then..
